Maintenance Station-

Maintenance Station

The branch-neutral asset management system integrated in the SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system offers users the option of preventative and predictive diagnostics, service and maintenance of the plant. In addition to process management, it provides integrated maintenance information and functions for the individual plant components and process I/O. A newly developed programmable logic block also makes it possible to integrate any number of plant components without self-test characteristics (pumps, motors, tanks, heat exchangers, centrifuges, distillation columns etc.) into the asset management.

Information always at the right time and the right place
Automation and plant asset management are executed on the same system. The resulting information is selectively divided to provide the plant operators and maintenance engineers with the information they need for their work: on the operator station (OS) and on the maintenance station (MS). The plant operator can use the operator station to access all process-relevant information, and can manually intervene in the process. Maintenance-relevant information is kept away from the operator station. It is summarized and shown to the maintenance engineer on the maintenance station.

Minimizing down-time, maintaining value
The employment of an asset management system enables economic, integrated preventive maintenance activities and therefore reduces the total cost of ownership. Regularly performed service and maintenance decreases down-time and contributes to safeguarding or adding to the value of the plant. Through the asset management system, a maintenance cycle is initiated ranging from diagnostics and the maintenance requirement and extending to the maintenance measures.
With SIMATIC PCS 7, the local plant asset management system is homogeneously integrated in the process control system. This integration includes both the runtime world, which requires no additional personnel training due to the intuitive, uniform visualization, and the engineering world: here all functions relating to the asset management can be automatically generated, almost with the push of a button.

Consider this
Asset management is integrated in SIMATIC PCS 7 as a branch-neutral package
Even mechanical assets (pumps, motors etc.) can be monitored
Engineering data for automation is used for asset management
Plant-wide and uniform display of diagnostics and maintenance states
Uniform visualization for all assets
Optimization of complete workflow from diagnostics up to termination of maintenance measure
